Enumerators visiting in June

Municipal Elections will be held in Victoria County on Saturday, October 15, 2016. To prepare, the County is conducting an enumeration of eligible voters for each of our eight districts. In June, clearly identified municipal enumerators will be visiting many Victoria County residents to collect the necessary information to compile a VOTERS LIST for the October 15 Municipal Election. Our Enumerators will record the names of everyone living at your location who is eligible to vote. They will also record the civic address, the mailing address and the date of birth of each eligible voter. The information collected will not be available to the public and is only used for election purposes.

If you are not at home when the enumerator calls at your home, they will leave a card indicating they have visited and that they will return on a certain date. If you are not at home after the second visit, they will leave a card with information on how to contact them so you can be included on the VOTERS LIST.
It is important that our VOTERS LIST be as accurate as possible. We appreciate your assistance and cooperation.
Qualified voters are:

  • 18 years of age on October 6, 2016
  • A Canadian citizen
  • An ordinary resident of Nova Scotia since April 6, 2016 Boundary Changes mean:
  • You may not be on the same list you were for the last election.
  • Your polling place may be at a different location that it was for the last election.
