Community Planning for Baddeck & Area

Baddeck, Unamaki / Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia — The Beacon Baddeck Advisory Committee is thrilled to announce the launch of a transformative project aimed at developing a Community Development plan for the residents, businesses, and community groups in Baddeck and its surrounding areas. The Beacon Baddeck Community Development Plan is a community-driven initiative dedicated to fostering collaboration among residents and the community sector, identifying shared community goals.

This comprehensive process will involve extensive community consultations, emphasizing inclusivity to ensure a thorough understanding of the diverse perspectives and needs within the community. The primary objective is to craft both short-term and mid-term visions and action plans, serving as a guiding roadmap for the community’s development. These plans will outline specific steps and strategies for achieving the identified goals.

The Beacon Baddeck Community Planning project is a partner project between Village of Baddeck and the Municipality of the County of Victoria. The Village of Baddeck serving on the Advisory Committee and Victoria County Municipal Staff have been working under the direction of the Advisory Committee to facilitate the project to get it started.

Nomination Process for the Beacon Baddeck Working Group

We invite your active participation in forming the Beacon Baddeck Working Group, which will play a pivotal role in steering and guiding the community development process. The nomination process will officially open on November 9th, 2023, and will remain open until December 31, 2023.
