Victoria County To Host First Provincial Age Friendly Conference

Exciting news! The Victoria County Age Friendly Advisory Committee is hosting a provincial conference in September. This information-sharing summit will strengthen Age Friendly connections throughout Nova Scotia. Our presenters will be business-people and government representatives who will help us to explore new ideas and inspire discussion. Our format includes expert speakers and panel discussions, set in the beautiful and inspirational community of Baddeck.

On Thursday, September 11, 2014 we will host an informal wine & cheese reception at the Inverary Inn. Chose from a number of recreational activities - a guided hike at Uisge Bhan falls; a historic walking tour of Baddeck, a guided kayak session on the lake or others. Enjoy all that Baddeck has to offer at a this wonderful time of year.

On Friday, September 12, 2014 our conference begins with Susanna Fuller, who will set the tone as our Keynote Speaker. As one of the authors of the Ivany Report, Ms. Fuller knows the challenges our province is facing. We have included two panel discussions moderated by the Cape Breton Partnership's Ian MacNeil. We expect to have lively discussions about Business and Housing issues and Age Friendly initiatives. Navigation with Nova Scotia 211 will wrap the conference.
