The Municipality of the County of Victoria is seeking to fill multiple Public Works positions across the County. Currently, there are three positions open based in Baddeck and three positions open based in New Haven. The closing date for all positions is April 30, 2025.
New Haven
Recycling Operations Lead
Based at the New Haven Recycling Depot
Now Hiring: a hands-on, organized Recycling Operations Lead to oversee day-to-day operations at the New Haven facility. This role includes supervising staff, ensuring safety protocols, and operating heavy equipment.
Position Details:

2 Public Works Attendants
Based at the New Haven Recycling Depot
Now Hiring: Two Public Works Attendants to support recycling operations through sorting, site maintenance, and customer service.
Available Positions:
🔹 Full-Time Permanent (Unionized) – $20.91/hour + full benefits
🔹 Full-Time Term (5 months, Non-Union) – $20.91/hour + 4% vacation pay
🕗 Both roles: 40 hrs/week, Tuesday–Saturday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Baddeck
Waste Collection Driver
Based at the Waste Management Facility
Now Hiring: a reliable Waste Collection Driver for a 4-month full-time term. You’ll be responsible for collecting and transporting curbside waste, recyclables, and organics along assigned routes.
Position Details:
✅ $24.23/hour + 4% vacation pay

Based at Waste Management Facility
Now Hiring: two Public Works Attendants to support operations at our Baddeck facility. Responsibilities include sorting and preparing materials, assisting with site access, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Position Details:
✅ $20.91/hour + 4% vacation pay
🕗 Full-time, 5-month term (Tuesday–Saturday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm)
