RCMP following up with Businesses

Under the Health Protection Act, the RCMP are authorized to enforce the following orders:

• A business that does not practice social distancing (there are exemptions for grocery stores, gas stations and pharmacies).
• A business that hosts social gatherings of more than 5 people
• A workplace that does not maintain a two-metre or six-foot distance between people/staff

Businesses can face fines of $7500 a day for every day they do not comply.

The RCMP have informed the municipality they will be enforcing these State of Emergency orders. If you see something that is concerning, please contact the RCMP office in your community.
