Help Improve Accessibility in Victoria County

Funding programs are open for local organizations and businesses to help make our spaces more accessible to persons with disabilities and to support underserved and underrepresents communities by removing barriers.

The following funding programs are available:

  • The Department of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage has the Business ACCESS-Ability Grant available to businesses. Find more information here.
  • They also have the Community ACCESS-Ability Grant available to community organizations. Find more information here.
  • The Office of Equity and Anti-Racism has the Community Network Grant. Funding is available for community-based organizations who support underrepresented and underserved communities to undertake projects that address systemic hate, inequity, and racism. Find more information here.
  • Lastly, the federal government has an Enabling Accessibility Fund. Find more information here.

Under the Accessibility Act, Nova Scotia is committed to an accessible Nova Scotia by 2030. Meeting this goal means preventing and removing barriers to accessibility, for persons with disabilities.
