Water Customers: Please Inspect Your Standpipe

Posted on:
April 9, 2024

Municipal water customers are asked to inspect their standpipe for any signs of damage after the winter. The standpipe should be nice and straight as pictured below. Water service regulations require that residents ensure the standpipe is uncovered and accessible. If you notice damage to your standpipe please contact Public Works Technician, Greg Weir, at 902-295-3669.

Wondering what a standpipe is for?

Standpipes are used to turn the water to your residence on or off at the water main, so that repairs and maintenance can be completed.
