In support of Mi’kmaw culture, history, and heritage, the Mi’kmaw flag was raised today in partnership by Victoria County Warden Bruce Morrison and Wagmatcook First Nation Chief Norman Bernard in front of the Victoria County Municipal Building.

Indigenous leaders, Wagmatcook Band Council, members of the Victoria County Council, municipal staff and the public gathered outside the Municipal Building in Baddeck to mark Mi’kmaw History Month and Treaty Day.

“It’s a great day,” proclaimed Chief Bernard in his speech to the assembled group.
