Victoria County Recreation Activities Program

Victoria County Recreation Department is pleased to be providing recreation activities for the residents of Victoria County.

Recreation can take on a different meaning for each individual and the Victoria County Recreation Department defines recreation as:

  • an activity an individual enjoys to participate in during their leisurely time to help improve either their physical, mental, emotional or social well-being in a safe, accessible and inclusive environment.

Those activities cover a wide variety depending on the individual ranging anywhere from sports to walking to knitting to painting and everything in between, basically any activity that allows an individual an opportunity to promote a situation that creates a healthier form of yourself.

With the help of Community Champions the following programs are being offered free of charge and all equipment needed to participate in the program is also available free of charge if needed.

Adhering to Cape Breton Victoria Regional Centre of Education Community Access to Schools policy dictates that any programs being delivered within a school gymnasium facility must ensure that your footwear are clean athletic shoes designed for that purpose, having soft, non-marking soles. No street shoes, boots or athletic shoes worn outside shall be allowed at any time as well no footwear causing black marks on the floor is definitely not permitted.

IMPORTANT: All programs that are delivered within a school facility will not proceed on any days that the school is closed. Please check the Cape Breton Victoria Regional Centre of Education webpage CB-VRCE Home | Cape Breton Victoria Regional Centre for Education (cbvrce.ca) for any school closures.

All participants must register and sign the Waiver and Release of Liability, either on-line at the bottom of this webpage, or at the venue.
