Victoria County is now accepting names of gardeners interested in applying for a community garden plot.

To ensure the process is fair for everyone, names will be chosen through a random draw.

There are a total of 14 community plots available (10’L x 4′ W). Only one plot will be allotted per gardener/organization. Tentative planting date in June 2023.

Here’s the steps you need to know!

1. Submit your name

If you’re interested, either drop by the Municipal Building at 495 Chebucto Street in Baddeck or submit your name via email to Steff MacLeod at steff.macleod@victoriacounty.ca

2. Random draw

Names of interested gardeners will be entered into a random draw taking place on May 17th, 2023.

3. What if I’m selected

If your name is selected from the random draw, as part of your application, you’ll be asked to sign the Baddeck Community Garden Application/Rules and Responsibilities.

3. Cost of plot

Garden plots will be $20.00 with proceeds going to the Helping Hands Food Bank.
