Hazardous Household Waste Drop Off Events

Victoria County is hosting its first Residential Hazardous Household Waste Drop Off Events. Victoria County residents will be able to drop off residential hazardous household items that are not accepted in regular garbage collection. The drop off events will be held in Baddeck on June 4 and in Dingwall on June 5, 2022.

Please note that only hazardous waste generated from households will be accepted.

For safety reasons, we ask residents to remain in their vehicle for this event. When you arrive, pull up to the drop off location and a staff member will unload your vehicle.

Victoria County Solid Waste Bylaw: (s)”household hazardous waste” means products used in the home which may not be appropriate for disposal within the standard municipal waste management collection system and may include glues, cleaners, paints and finishes, asphalt sealers, gasoline, diesel, kerosene, pesticides, lawn and garden chemicals, poisons, roofing tar, pool chemicals, lubricating oils and automotive fluids and the containers in which they were stored.
