The Municipality of the County of Victoria wants to be a welcoming, safe, and accessible place for everyone. To help make this happen, we are creating an IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility) Plan. This plan will identify barriers and find ways to remove them, guided by an IDEA Committee.
The IDEA Committee will meet four times a year: in March, June, September, and December. Members will help track progress, suggest changes, and share new ideas. Their feedback will be shared with staff and council to improve programs, services, and resources for a more inclusive community.
We are looking for members with lived experience, including individuals with disabilities and those from underrepresented groups. If you’re interested, please email accessibility@victoriacounty.ca or call 902-295-8135. Let us know a bit about yourself and why you’d like to join!
