Off the beaten path, Seaweed and Sod Farm is a quiet, centrally located 2- room Bed and Breakfast that is the perfect place to stay while you explore the beauty of Cape Breton. Our farm – 100 acres of pasture, meadow, and woods – is nestled in the Bras d’Or Lake Biosphere Reserve, a region that was designated by UNESCO in 2011 for its unique history and promotion of sustainable lifestyles.
Our central location between the world-famous Cabot Trail and the Fortress of Louisbourg means exploration and adventure is never far away!
At the end of your day our Bed and Breakfast is the perfect place to relax and recharge. Take a swim at the nearby semi-private beach. Wander our 3 km of trails or just sit up the hill and take in our beautiful view. You can read a book or sip a glass of wine on our screened-in porch. Listen to the roosters’ crow and the coyotes howl and maybe even the hoot of an owl. Enjoy our spectacular sunsets. Take a stroll, enjoy a campfire, or even star-gaze. You might even get to meet a llama!
We admit it, it is a bit of a drive to get here, but we think it is worth it … and we are pretty sure you will too!
