Posted on:
June 12, 2024

The Fences Arbitration Committee hears complaints related to agricultural fencing matters in Victoria County. For example, if a resident has a concern involving his neighbour’s stray livestock, the issue can be brought forward to the Fences Arbitration Committee to hear the complaint, gather the facts and arbitrate the situation fairly and objectively.

In Victoria County, the Fences Arbitration Committee is comprised of two members of Council and a representative from the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture. Current members are:

  • Perla MacLeod, District #2 Councillor
  • Fraser Patterson, District #5 Councillor
  • Ken Oakes, NS Federation of Agriculture

If you have a complaint involving livestock, please download and print off the following Complaint Form, or drop by the Municipal Office at 495 Chebucto Street, Baddeck, N.S. and fill out a complaint form. Your concerns will be redirected to the Fences Arbitration Committee for follow-up.
