ACCESSIBILITY | BOUNDARY REVIEW | LOCAL IMPROVEMENT BYLAW
Victoria County is hosting open house sessions in each district because we want to hear from residents on important topics that impact you, Accessibility, Electoral Boundaries and Local Improvement Bylaw.
ACCESSIBILITY
Victoria County is developing an Accessibility Plan to offer more inclusive municipal programs and services. The goal is to identify and eliminate barriers for people with disabilities at Municipal-owned facilities. Your valuable feedback about the barriers you experience when accessing municipal facilities or using municipal services and programs will help inform us on the best approach forward. Learn more and fill out the survey now! Click here.
MUNICIPAL BOUNDARY REVIEW
Victoria County conducts a boundary review every eight years and is due for a review in 2022. The purpose is to ensure the fairness of the size, style and governance structure of council and the distribution of polling districts and boundaries. Your input is an integral part of our review and application to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board. To learn more click here.
LOCAL IMPROVEMENT BYLAW
A Local Improvement Charge (LIC) is the cost to the property owner receiving benefit from the improvement. LICs are used by municipalities to help cover the costs of infrastructure improvements deemed to benefit a specific neighbourhood or area. Tell us your feedback on how local infrastructure projects are funded.
Please join us at an open house session near you to have your say.
