Help Keep Waste Collection Moving This Winter

Winter arrived early this year, and December has already brought several significant snow events. As snow and ice continue to accumulate, we are asking residents and businesses to help ensure safe access to garbage boxes, bins and collection areas.

Our collection staff require safe access to your waste boxes and bins. When access is obstructed by snow or ice, or when surfaces are slippery, collection may not be possible.

What you can do:

  • Clear snow and ice from around garbage boxes, bins and collection areas
  • Ensure lids can be fully opened
  • Maintain a clear, safe path for collection staff
  • Apply salt or sand to reduce icy conditions around the area

Taking a few minutes to prepare your collection area protects collection staff and helps keep waste services running smoothly for everyone throughout the winter season.

Thank you for your cooperation and for doing your part to support safe and reliable waste collection this winter.
