Are you interested in Active Transportation in Victoria County? Cycling Nova Scotia is seeking your input for the next phase in this exciting Blue Route project in the Village of Baddeck and surrounding areas. Residents are invited to register to take part in the Online Focus Group on January 6th, 2025 and to complete an Online Survey to help inform this project. Please see the update from the project team below the poster.

Cycling Nova Scotia, partnered with Victoria County, seeks to develop an Active Transportation (AT) Network within the Village of Baddeck and its surrounding areas. With the help of community members, four AT routes were chosen. Major streets along these routes include Shore Rd., Chebucto St., Water St., Grant St. and Twining St.. This ended the first phase of the project.

Moving to the second phase, C+D Community Designs have been hired to develop AT facilities design for each route. We recognize the value of community input in developing AT facilities that are not only equitable and accessible to people of all ages and abilities but that also integrate seamlessly with the character, growth vision and values of the Village of Baddeck and Victoria County.

We will be holding an online focus group session on January 6th, 2025, to help us gather information on the community’s desires and concerns about phase two of the project (Developing AT facilities design).

We also have an online survey and we would love to hear from you about key concepts that impact the design of the AT facilities.

Inputs gathered from the focus group and online survey will be used to develop the AT facilities’ design. These designs will then be presented at an open house session on the 25th February, 2025, where your feedback will be taken into consideration and used in implementing the final proposed designs.
