Community Planning for Baddeck & Area:

Baddeck, Unamaki / Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia — The Beacon Baddeck Advisory Group are thrilled to announce the launch of a project focused on a Community Development plan for the residents, businesses, and community groups in Baddeck and surrounding areas. This Development Plan is a community-driven initiative among residents, businesses, and the community sector, identifying shared community goals.

This process will involve community consultations, emphasizing inclusivity of the diverse perspectives and needs within the community. The primary objective is to craft both short-term and mid-term visions and action plans, serving as a guiding roadmap for the community’s development. These plans will outline specific steps and strategies for achieving the identified goals.

The Beacon Baddeck Community Development Plan is a community led project being facilitated in a partnership between the Village of Baddeck and the Municipality of the County of Victoria. The Village of Baddeck serving on the Advisory Committee and Victoria County Municipal Staff have been working under the direction of the Advisory Committee to facilitate the project management process.

Nomination Process for the Beacon Baddeck Working Group

We invite your active participation in forming the Beacon Baddeck Working Group, which will play a pivotal role in steering and guiding the community development process. The nomination process will remain open until December 31, 2023.
