The ACTing Collectively Project was undertaken to identify the needs of older adults (65+) living in the community and the resources available to them, with the goal of helping communities tailor and create resources that support older adults to age in place. Victoria Day Holiday Hours

Please note the following changes to hours of operation for the Victoria Day long weekend. On Monday, May 19, the Baddeck Waste Management Facility, the Municipal Building, and Victoria County Transit will be closed. On Tuesday, May 20, Jim Bradley Recycling Depot, the New Haven Recycling Depot, and the Dingwall Transfer Station will be closed.

Victoria County Council Approves 2025-26 Budget

On May 5, 2025, Victoria County Council approved the 2025–26 municipal budget, with no changes to residential or commercial tax rates. The $39.2 million budget includes investments in areas such as emergency services, tourism, housing, and community infrastructure. This budget allows the Municipality to maintain essential services and respond to community priorities, without increasing the tax burden for residents.

Community Engagement Survey

Help Shape an Inclusive Future for Victoria County
The Municipality of the County of Victoria is committed to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA). We’re forming a new committee to help guide our staff and council—and we need your input!

By sharing your experiences and insights in our IDEA Engagement Survey, you’ll help shape a plan that makes Victoria County a more welcoming and inclusive place to live and work.

The engagement survey intends to gather feedback from people who live and/or work in Victoria County. This feedback will be shared with the IDEA Committee to help build the municipality’s IDEA plan and guide ongoing work.
