Community Development

Community Development is about the active involvement of people in the issues which affect their lives. It is a process based on the sharing of skills, knowledge and experience.

Community Development is a multi-faceted approach aimed at identifying and addressing the shared needs within a community and to ultimately foster growth.

Victoria County has many vibrant and engaged communities, and our efforts in Community Development will involve facilitating engagement sessions to identify common goals and to support community organizations in their efforts to activate development initiatives. Currently, our team is working on a Community Placemaking project. For more information on what is placemaking and the planned events for this project follow this link.
