SMALL BUSINESS IMPACT GRANT 3

The Small Business Impact Grant 3 is available to eligible businesses, including new businesses, and provides a grant of up to $5000.

Eligible recipients of previous Impact Grants have been invited to apply through a simplified process.

Eligible businesses that have not previously received an Impact Grant will be able to apply on May 19.

With the current shutdown across the Province of NS, the deadline for applications for the 2021 Community Festivals & Events is extended to Friday, May 21, 2021, to allow groups and organizations more time to get their applications prepared and submitted for consideration.

The Tourism Digital Assistance Program will help eligible tourism businesses increase their visibility online and provide the services customers expect, like online booking. Tourism Nova Scotia, in partnership with Digital Nova Scotia, will connect you with a qualified digital consultant to enhance or develop effective digital marketing or e-commerce tools.

Participants in the program benefit from:

  • Consultant services valued up to $5,000
  • Expert support in tactics including website creation, search engine optimization, content creation, digital marketing strategy, social media strategy, online booking systems, and e-commerce tools

CB Special Events Task Force

The Municipality of Victoria County has partnered with the Nova Scotia Office of Regulatory Affairs and Service Effectives, the Cape Breton Partnership, and the Island’s other municipal units to develop the Cape Breton Special Events Task Force (CB SETF). The CB SETF is a pilot project designed to help festivals and events in Cape Breton navigate regulations. It brings local, provincial, and federal representatives together in a one-stop-shop approach to provide guidance for special event organizers across the Island. Free Virtual Training

Straight Area Chamber of Commerce are offering a new slate of No Cost Workplace Education  Courses this spring!  These courses will take place online and are sponsored by Labour and Advanced Education.  

Mondays – Starting April 12, 2021:

  • Leadership – 8:30am – 12:30pm
  • Excel – 1:00pm – 5pm
  • Financial Management – 5:30pm – 9:30pm

Tuesday’s – Starting April 6th

  • Quickbooks – 8:30am – 12:30pm
  • Sage Accounting – 1:00pm – 5pm

Courses are Free, Customized & Provincially Certified – 40 hrs per course.
Students must be currently employed or operating a business.
