VOTING BY TELEPHONE

When voting by telephone, it will be like trying to get a hold of your credit card company or phone company. You listen to the options and then press the associated number for your selection.

Here are the steps that you will be going through for the voting process.

  1. Call the 1 888 number on the voter information letter.
  2. Input your Date of Birth in the order of Month/Day/Year.
  3. Input your PIN number from the voter information letter. If you receive an error, we may have your date of birth wrong. Please contact us at the Victoria County Election Office at (902) 295-2117.
  4. Listen to list of candidates for Councillor and which number is associated with their name.
  5. Press the number associated with the candidate you want to select.
  6. You will hear the name of the person that you have selected. At this point you can confirm your vote. Once you have confirmed your choice, you can not go back again. It is the exact same as dropping a paper ballot into the ballot box.
  7. Press # to confirm your choice, or * to go back to the list of candidates.
  8. The system will confirm who you have voted for.
  9. You have completed voting. Enjoy the rest of the day

VOTING BY INTERNET

  1. Go to the website listed on your Voter Information Letter. Use the address bar at the top of the page. If you put the website into the search box in the middle, it will not come up.
  2. You will see a welcome page. Hit “Continue”. If it won’t let you in, you are either too early or too late.
  3. Enter the characters shown above in the picture, into the box. If you can’t make it out, click on the picture to generate a new one. This is security feature and must be filled out to continue.
  4. Enter your Date of Birth and PIN. If you receive an error, we may have your date of birth wrong. Please contact us at the Victoria County Election Office at (902) 295-2117.
  5. Select the candidate for Councillor that you wish to vote for. Should you not like any of your choices, you can select “Decline to Vote” or “Submit” without selecting anyone. This will cause your ballot to be spoiled.
  6. On the next page, your choice will be displayed. Once you confirm your choice, it is the same as dropping a paper ballot into the box. It can not be changed. If you are happy with your choice, please hit “Vote Now”. If you made an error, hit “Return to Ballot” and it will bring you back to screen with the candidates.
  7.  Once you have confirmed your choice, the system will show you who you voted for.
  8. You have completed voting. Enjoy the rest of the day.

Why am I not on the list of electors?

  • Why am I not on the list of electors?

  • Your name was added to the list in the incorrect polling division.
  • You recently moved.
  • We have you under your middle name or nick name, such as Barb for Barbara.
  • Please contact us at the Voter Help Desk so we can get your name on the list. ↩︎
